COURSE DESCRIPTION

The nationally recognised SIT30116 – Certificate III in Tourism will give you the qualification, knowledge and skills to enhance your travel and tourism career. Whether you are thinking of entering the industry or building upon your career, this qualification can assist you to do so.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a range of well-developed tourism service, sales or operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate tourism services. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This qualification will provide you with entry level skills and knowledge to work effectively in the travel and tourism industry.

Australian College of Hospitality and Retail includes SITHFAB002 Provide responsible service of alcohol of competency in the qualification structure. However, the unit must be completed externally through another registered training organisation. If you have already completed this unit, simply provide us with a copy of your Statement of Attainment or Statement of Results from the registered training organisation to apply for credit transfer. If you do not already hold this unit, you will need to source another registered training organisation to complete the unit and provide us with a copy of your Statement of Attainment upon successful completion to apply for credit transfer.

JOB OUTCOMES

To achieve this qualification, learners are required to source suitable work placement with the required resources, equipment and facility in accordance with the work placement checklist. Work placement needs to be organised by the student and is a requirement in order to satisfy the assessment criteria of the qualification.
